HIV Prevention Program
Many people assume that individuals with disabilities are not sexually active. They may also believe that people with disabilities are at little risk for HIV infection. As a result, few HIV/AIDS prevention programs have been designed to be accessible and appropriate for individuals with disabilities.
Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital’s HIV Prevention Program was created with the needs and concerns of individuals with disabilities in mind. We provide:
- Informative and fun group workshops
- HIV testing and counseling
- Private risk-reduction counseling
- Hepatitis screening and vaccinations
- Referrals to community programs
- Condoms
All services are free for people with disabilities. Please call to register for a workshop or for more information.
