About Sinai Community Institute

Sinai Community Institute (SCI) services are available to women, children and families. SCI is oftentimes the entry point for those in need of comprehensive health care services.

SCI provides a range of services such as health education, food and nutritional services, leadership development, parent training, and vocational counseling within the health-related field, case-management, intervention, prevention and outreach programs geared to improving family health and promoting wellness throughout the community.

SCI Impact

SCI Impact

In fiscal year 2008:
•SCI served more than 25,000 individuals.
•7,000 women and children benefited from WIC, which provides nutrition education and supplemental nutrition for pregnant women, infants and children up to age 5.
•9,000 families benefited from the Family Development Drop-In Center, which provides parent/child early intervention services with a focus on structured playgroups for new parents, parenting education and teachable moments.
•The Parenting Institute provided 150 parents with the skills, knowledge and resources they need to raise children in our complex society.
•Senior Services and Neglect investigated 300 reports of alleged abuse to older persons.
•JISC provided enhanced case management services to more than 900 youth arrested by the Chicago Police Department.
•SCI and NFL Alumni partnered to form the Bound for Glory youth mentoring program.
